Goku vs Majin Vegeta
The Buu Saga is often criticized for introducing over-the-top power levels and numerous transformations. However, it still had some standout moments, with one of the best being a non-Buu-related fight between Goku and his longtime rival.
Vegeta's constant desire to surpass Goku is well-known. After Goku sacrificed himself against Cell, Vegeta lamented that he would never get another chance to prove himself against his rival. Their inevitable rematch occurred when Vegeta, under Babidi's influence, attained Super Saiyan 2, putting them on equal ground. The catalyst for their clash was Vegeta's ruthless act of killing spectators at the World Martial Arts Tournament. Despite other visually impressive battles in the series, this one stands out for its emotional intensity. Each punch thrown by Vegeta carried years of built-up anger and frustration.
While Vegeta won with a cheap shot when Goku dropped his guard, the moment was remarkable as it showcased the return of Vegeta's dark side. However, the impact was somewhat diminished when it was later revealed that Goku had the Super Saiyan 3 transformation all along and had been holding back during the fight.
