Guillaume Pousaz, a Dubai-based Swiss entrepreneur and one of the richest people in the UK, launched Checkout.com in 2012 to solve the challenge of online payment processing for retailers and buyers throughout the world. Checkout.com received a $1 billion investment from private investors in January 2022, valuing the company at $18.65 billion. Pousaz, the CEO of Checkout.com, owns roughly two-thirds of the company based in London.
