Gulf State Park
Gulf State Park is a public recreation area on the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores in southern Baldwin County, Alabama. The state park's 6,500 acres (2,600 ha) mostly encompass the land behind the Gulf Shores beach community, between Highway 59 and SH 161, with the west end extending further south to a wide beach area.
Gulf State Park is ideal for adventurers who want to mix in some relaxation, with 28 miles of trails, 2 miles of beaches, and plenty of paddling and swimming opportunities in 900-acre Lake Shelby. For those on a budget, there are cabins, cottages, and campsites, but those who don't want to rough it should book a room at the Hilton-affiliated Lodge at Gulf State Park. Each the Alabama Point East Access Point and the Beach Pavilion are excellent places to set up camp for the day since they both provide food stalls, picnic tables, and bathrooms.
