Hawar International School
Hawar International School (HIS) was founded in 2001 by a dedicated group of Bahraini professionals with the goal of providing excellent bilingual education from nursery to grade 12. They prioritize a learner-friendly environment while preserving the culture and heritage of Bahrain and Islamic society.
Starting from the academic year 2018-2019, HIS adopted the Cambridge curriculum for K–8 and introduced the IGCSE curriculum for Grade 9 in 2019-2020. They expanded the Cambridge curriculum to cover all English-taught subjects in grades K–8 during the last academic year.
Arabic subjects align with the standards set by the Bahrain Ministry of Education. In the KG section, an equal division of 50/50 between Arabic and English subjects nurtures literacy and numeracy in both languages. KG2 adheres to the Ministry of Bahrain curriculum for Arabic subjects and follows the Cambridge curriculum for English.
Elementary, middle, and high school students engage in a comprehensive curriculum covering Arabic language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths, and Science. Additional lessons include Art, PE, and ICT. Grade 12 students benefit from the Careers Education Development Program (CEDP) for university preparation.
