He Has Received Various Honors
Among the honors bestowed to Andrew Russell are a Tony Award, a BAFTA TV Award, and a Golden Globe Award. In 2022, Time magazine listed Garfield among the top 100 global influencers.
The superhero movies The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), and later Spider-Man: No Way Home helped Garfield become more well-known (2021). He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performances as Desmond Doss in the 2016 military drama Hacksaw Ridge and Jonathan Larson in the musical Tick, Tick, Boom! (2021). For the latter, Garfield additionally won the Golden Globe for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work in the criminal drama miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven in 2022.
Garfield performed on stage in the Death of a Salesman Broadway revival in 2012, earning him a Tony Award nomination. Garfield was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for his performance as Prior Walter in a 2017 London production of Angels in America. He returned to the role the following year on Broadway and won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
