He Swept The Major EPL Awards For The 2006–2007 Season
On October 7, 2002, Cristiano Ronaldo, then 17 years old, made his professional debut for Sporting CP, one of the "Três Grandes" (Big Three) clubs in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. He scored twice in a 3–0 victory in his debut game against Moreirense. Ronaldo managed 3 goals and 3 assists in 25 games during his one and only season with Sporting CP. He attracted the interest of the top European football teams quickly, and in 2003, he was signed by English powerhouse Manchester United. On August 16, 2003, he defeated Bolton Wanderers 4–0 at home to make his Premier League (PL) debut. Ronaldo scored 4 goals and supplied 7 assists in 29 games during his debut season in the EPL.
Ronaldo helped Manchester United finish third in his debut season in the English Premier League by scoring 4 goals and dishing out 7 assists in 29 games. He did, however, complete the season by scoring the first goal in United's 3–0 FA Cup final triumph over Millwall, gaining his first trophy. In the 2006–07 campaign, which saw Manchester United win the Premier League, he had his best season, scoring 17 goals and dishing out 13 assists. Ronaldo earned the Player of the Year (PPY), Fans' Player (FPY), Young Player of the Year (YPY), and Footballer of the Year (FWA) awards for his achievements from the Professional Footballers' Association. As a result, he became the first player to receive both the PFA and FWA's four top awards.
