Health Mart was established in 1996 after the McKesson Corporation acquired the drug company FoxMeyer and changed its name to Health Mart. Health Mart is a subsidiary of Health Mart Systems, Inc. It is the largest pharmacy brand with more than 5000 stores across the United States. most pharmacies in California, Texas, and Florida.
In 2020, Health Mart cooperates with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to represent its brand, with the Ready, Set, PrEP program. This program provides counseling and preventive medicine to people at high risk of exposure to PrEP. They also donate their mixing costs to this project.
In 2019, Health Mart continued to cooperate with HHS to become COVID-19 testing points. It also provides health care and counseling services to patients with COVID-19. Health Mart has free software on Android applications, providing services such as drug replenishment, consultation, drug lookup, and finding the nearest Health Mart pharmacy.
