Located in Yangdong city, Zhejiang province, Hengdian is one of the two largest film studios in China and is the shooting location for many famous Chinese films, such as Huang Jinjia by director Zhang Yimou, Infinity by director Chen Kaige, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon by director Ang Lee,... "Chinawood" is the nickname of this studio, which was built on 2500 acres, larger than two studios combined. Paramount and Universal (USA) combined.
Real-life settings – from Beijing's majestic Forbidden City to the luxuriant rainforests of colonial Hong Kong – have been used for more than a thousand Chinese films and TV series country. Not only ancient scenes, but also modern scenes were created at Hengdian.
