Highland Spring
Highland Spring is a Scottish manufacturer of natural-source bottled water. It makes still and sparkling water at its facility in Blackford, Perth, and Kinross, which, despite its name, is not in the Scottish Highlands. Its water comes from protected, biological land in the Ochil Hills. Mahdi Al Tajir, an Emirati-born businessman, owns the company.
Highland Spring is the leading natural source water brand in the UK. UK sales volumes increased by 6.3% to 348.6 million liters in 2021, establishing a respectable market share of 10.0% of overall UK plain packaged water volumes. In order to reduce plastic waste, the firm became the first in the UK to introduce and test a 100% recycled and recyclable plastic container in June 2018.
Following the trial's success, in January 2019, it formally released a commercial bottle brand dubbed "Eco-Bottle" that was 100% recyclable and recycled. By 2020, the whole "Eco-Bottle" sub-range will be produced entirely of recycled PET plastic.
