With a small angle grinder, a thief can bypass almost any lock on the market. Some may argue that bike unlocking is impossible since that task will generate considerable noise. But in a densely populated region, such drawbacks are hardly significant. So if you want complete peace of mind while riding an expensive e-bike, you will need a lock that can withstand any attack from an angle grinder.

Of course, there are other locks available that are even more difficult to break with an angle grinder. However, we still highly recommend this Hiplok D. What distinguishes the D1000 is its portability: although it is heavier than other U locks and does not have a frame attachment, it is compact and fits neatly in a backpack or on a rack.

However, the main disadvantage is that the inside space of the Hiplok D is so limited, that locking both a chassis and a wheel might be difficult.
