Hästens is one of the oldest Swedish mattress manufacturers. Since 1852, Hästens has been producing meticulously crafted beds and mattresses that have gained global recognition for their exceptional quality.

These luxurious beds have been the preferred choice of actors, politicians, athletes, and aristocrats for many years. In fact, Hästens has been the official provider of mattresses to the Swedish royal family since 1952.

Hästens mattresses are supported by a pine wood structure and feature an internal composition consisting of multiple layers of horsehair, wool, cotton, and linen. This unique combination of natural materials helps reduce the electrostatic charge accumulated by the body throughout the day. Moreover, each one of Hästens beds is a unique piece, the result of the combination of around twenty thousand different configurations.

The most iconic mattress of Hästens is the Hästens blue and white checkered bed. The bed is created in 1978 by Jack Ryde (father of the current company owner), and its design is still a classic in our days.

Moreover, the company also has diverse collaborations with well-known designers and stylists to bring fresh designs to its customers. Some of the best collaborations the brand has had were with the stylist Larss Nillson, the Swedish duo Bernadotte & Kylberg, and the British interior designer Ilse Crawford.
