International Children’s Digital Library
International Children's Digital Library (ICDL) is a research project principally funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS), and Microsoft Research. Create a digital library of excellent children's books from around the world.
The project was introduced at a global celebration at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in November 2002. The main target of the gathering is on identifying materials that help children understand the globe around them and also the global society within which they live.
The materials within the collection, all presented within the original languages during which they were published, reflect the similarities and differences in culture, society, preferences, and way of lifetime of the peoples of the world.
