International School of Belgrade
The International School of Belgrade (ISB) is a self-governing, co-ed international school located in the Senjak neighborhood of Belgrade, Serbia. ISB became part of the IB school system in 2005 and has since been a leading IB school in Belgrade, preparing students for leadership in a rapidly changing world.
ISB adopts the International Baccalaureate curriculum, offering IB programs from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school is split into two campuses – Lower School and Middle/High School – with instruction conducted in English. The academic year runs from late August to mid-June, and ISB has been a prominent figure in international education in Belgrade for over 70 years.
Accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, ISB is an authorized IB World School. It teaches students how to bring about positive change with compassion and creativity in our complex global environment.
ISB boasts a diverse student body of 384 students from 45 countries across Lower, Middle, and High Schools. The school employs 74 faculty members, teaching assistants, and specialists from 10 nationalities, with teaching experience ranging from 3 to over 30 years.
The high school campus was established in 2003, while grades 6-8 moved to a new building nearby in 2005. In January 2012, ISB's Middle School returned to the renovated campus, equipped with a new state-of-the-art Gymnasium and Amphitheatre.
ISB provides various after-school programs divided into three seasons: Autumn, Winter, and Spring. As a member of CEESA, ISB's older students (Grades 6-12) participate in events with students from other international schools in Central and Eastern Europe, engaging in sports like Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball, as well as Knowledge Bowl and Math Counts.
