International School of Belgrade
The International School of Belgrade (ISB) is an independent IB school in Serbia. It became an IB school in 2005 and has led Belgrade, helping students prepare for leadership in today's fast-changing world.
ISB follows the International Baccalaureate curriculum, providing IB programs from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school has two parts – Lower School and Middle/High School – where English is the language of instruction. The school year runs from late August to mid-June, and ISB has been a prominent figure in international education in Belgrade for over 70 years.
ISB is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development. It's an authorized IB World School, teaching students how to make positive changes with compassion and creativity in our complex global environment.
With a student body of 384 students from 45 countries across Lower, Middle, and High Schools, ISB prides itself on its diversity. The school has 74 faculty members, teaching assistants, and specialists from 10 nationalities, with teaching experience ranging from 3 to over 30 years.
ISB's high school campus started in 2003, and grades 6-8 moved to a new building in 2005. In January 2012, ISB's Middle School returned to the renovated campus, featuring a new state-of-the-art Gymnasium and Amphitheatre.
The school offers various after-school programs in Autumn, Winter, and Spring. As a member of CEESA, ISB's older students (Grades 6-12) take part in events with students from other international schools in Central and Eastern Europe, participating in sports like Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball, as well as Knowledge Bowl and Math Counts.
