International School of Riga
The International School of Riga (ISR) is located in Riga and provides international education for students aged 2 to 18. It's an IB World School and Cambridge International Centre, focusing on creating a learning community where each student is encouraged to reach their potential and become an ethical, confident, and globally-minded citizen.
For primary school students (preschool to grade 5), ISR follows the IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP). Middle school students (grades 6 to 8) study using the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). In grades 9-10, students follow the Cambridge IGCSE, and for grades 11-12, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is offered. This means an ISR education is recognized globally and valued by international universities.
The school currently has around 300 students from 47 different countries. With a small class size and a 1:6 teacher-student ratio, students at ISR receive an excellent academic education and develop various skills. The school boasts a 100% university acceptance rate for applicants, with many students recognized as global contributors. The experienced teaching staff, each with over 25 years of experience, tailors education to each student's personality, offering various curricula.
Instruction is in English, with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support available for those who need it. Students not requiring additional English support can also learn foreign languages such as French, Latvian, or Spanish. ISR has a certified international teaching staff, including languages, physical education, art, music, and IT specialists.
