Inverness
There is no shortage of beauty in Inverness, which is located at the northern end of the magnificent Great Glen. Inverness really has it all for a memorable city break or a longer Highland holiday.
While swimming in the glittering Loch Ness at this time of year is not advised, strolling along its banks and viewing the surroundings from Urquhart Castle are both must-do activities for any winter visitor to Scotland. As you wander around the area, take in the crisp, fresh air and take in how the old structures and stunning landscape are decorated with sparkling snow and ice. After that, attend a performance inside one of the many theatres if you want to stay warm. The hilarious pantomime (also known as "panto") being performed at Eden Court Theatre is highly recommended. Shopping in the town center, admiring inspiring artwork in Castle Gallery, and having dinner by fire are all other cozy activities.
