Despite Raghu's threats and physical violence, Venkat remains determined to marry Sujatha.
The climax unfolds at a temple where, amidst a confrontation, Venkat challenges Raghu, vowing to marry Sujatha at 7:00 am. A dramatic escape ensues, leading to a forest encounter where Venkat defeats Raghu in a fierce hand-to-hand combat. With Sujatha's father's eventual approval, Venkat and Sujatha triumph against all odds, sealing their love in marriage.
Jayam's success at the box office led to its Tamil remake in 2003, maintaining the same title with Sadha and Gopichand reprising their roles. The film's resonating narrative, coupled with powerful performances and impactful music, contributed to its enduring acclaim in Indian cinema.
