Johns Hopkins Hospital
Johns Hopkins Hospital is one of the most well-known and well-respected healthcare institutions in the United States. In keeping with that tradition, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore provides cancer treatment, education, and research across all disciplines, including cancer immunotherapy and bone marrow transplants.
Johns Hopkins Hospital and its medical school are regarded as the founding institutions of modern American medicine, as well as the birthplace of many well-known medical traditions such as rounds, residents, and house staff. Many medical specialties were formed at the hospital, including neurosurgery, which was founded by Harvey Cushing and Walter Dandy, cardiac surgery, which was founded by Alfred Blalock, and child psychiatry, which was founded by Leo Kanner. The Johns Hopkins Children's Center, which is attached to the hospital, serves infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21.
