Kakao T is a Korean transportation app. This app is popular in Korea, and it offers taxi-hailing, designated driver booking, nearby parking space search, real-time traffic information, and other services. You may need to take a taxi on occasion, so we recommend that you download this app!

Originally known as Kakao Taxi, the service was launched on March 31, 2015, as a taxi-calling service app that connects users in need of a ride with taxi drivers. Kakao rebranded the platform as Kakao T in 2017, with the "T" standing for "transportation," combining their key transportation services into a single mobile app. The service was launched in Japan in May 2017 as a result of a collaboration with JapanTaxi.

A Kakao account with an email address and password is necessary for the app. There is a collection and storage of personal data. The app helps match the user with the closest driver in the neighborhood. Drivers for KakaoTaxi are all authorized taxi drivers. If you enter your payment information in the app, you can pay directly as well. It's similar to Korea's Uber.
