Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits is an anime series based on a light novel. The story is about Aoi Tsubaki, a college student who has seen spirits since she was young. Because of this, she has struggled with her connection to the spirit world. One day, Aoi's grandpa leaves her with a lot of money to pay and a special gift - a magical flute. This gift lets her see a rare and valuable spirit called the Ayakashi, who wants to eat her.

To pay back her grandpa's money and stay safe, Aoi decides to go into the hidden spirit world. There, she finds a particular inn called Tenjin-ya, run by a good-looking and mysterious guy named Odanna, a strong ogre. Aoi agrees to work in Tenjin-ya as a cook to pay off her money. She makes meals that attract both spirits and humans.

As Aoi learns about the spirit world and their stories. She also becomes friends with the people who live in Tenjin-ya, including Odanna. The anime talks about how humans and spirits become close.
