Kalash Valley

Chitral is a tiny, cozy town tucked away in the shadow of the enormous Hindu Kush mountains. It is inhabited by a hardy, friendly, and welcoming group of people. You can get to Kalash, a UNESCO heritage site with a thousand-year-old culture, in less than two hours from Chitral. There are about 5,000 Kalasha, who continue to live in much the same way they did hundreds of years ago.


The Kalash or Kalasha Valley is home to gorgeous, blue-eyed people in addition to its lovely landscape and charming greenery. All day long, people in Kalash's streets can be heard dancing to the beat of drums while wearing traditional clothing. The Kalash villages contain a number of historic monuments and dance halls.


Kalash valley is well-known for its people's rich culture. Their cultural festivals and hospitality draw a large number of tourists. Kalash is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. Plastic snacks are usually preferred by travelers over native fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

Every year, tourists come to witness and learn about their traditions and culture. The women wear traditional garb with a small cap, which is black with colorful embroidery made by Kalash's uniquely talented women. Every festival brings men and women together to dance.


These people tend to their crops all year long in addition to caring for their goats and participating in communal worship. One of Pakistan's most distinctive locations, it offers a look at an ancient culture's way of life.


Aside from that, there are several well-known lakes in Kalash valley, which contribute to the valley's fresh and cold climate. The Sacred Lake of Bahuk is located between the small valleys of Rumboor and Bumburet. Lake Awazak is surrounded by lush green vegetation. The fresh grass around the lake attracts many grazing animals. Lake Shawal is another lake in Kalash valley with cold and fresh water and a mountain backdrop. Herds are also brought here for grazing. Because of its charming people, a visit to Kalash valley becomes the most memorable tour for tourists.
