Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) (English: Karlovy Vary International Film Festival) is a film festival held annually in July in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Czech Republic. Recently, the Karlovy Vary Film Festival has become one of the most important film events in Central and Western Europe.


The Karlovy Vary Film Festival is the third oldest film festival in the world (after the Venice Film Festival and the Moscow International Film Festival), and also the smallest A-class film festival in the world. Held for the first time in 1946, but only broadcast the first time in 1948.


From 1958 to 1994, the Festival was held every two years. Since 1990, the Directing Festival of Czech actor Jiří Bartoška. At the heart of the celebration is the honoring and awarding of the most impressive films of the year, and the organization of prestigious lectures, gala dinners and seminars. Therefore, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is always a highly anticipated event of the "seventh art" industry.
