Tom Gahan and Tate Cui, two former roommates, launched KastKing in 2014 as a brand of fishing equipment. The two planned to start a business that would produce and market high-quality fishing equipment at a competitive price when they were enrolled in Syracuse University's MBA program in upstate New York.
