Katie Ledecky
Katie Ledecky, withouta doubt, is considered the best athletes. Regarded as the best swimmer in the world, Ledecky moves into the realm of Michael Phelps. She is only 20 years old and she broke five gold medals and three world records at the 2015 Russian World Championships. She also became the first swimmer to win a major event in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle. Ledecki won four gold medals at her Olympics, breaking her own 400m and 800m records at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Then she repeated her success at the 2017 World Championships, winning five more gold medals. To date, she has broken 13 world records and so far only Sofmore remains. When it comes to
swimming, the great Michael Phelps is definitely worth mentioning and would most likely be number one on this list if he hadn't recently retired. The most decorated American Olympic athlete in history with 28 medals, Phelps set incredibly high standards for the swimming of the future.
Another American swimmer likely to join some of the best in the near future is 20-year-old Kaleb Dressel. A record holder with two Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and seven gold medals at the 2017 World Cup, Dressel has quality and potential in countless trucks. Will he be able to face Phelps? Time will tell.
