KBS
KBS (Korea Broadcasting System) started broadcasting radio for the first time in Korea as Gyeongseong Broadcasting Station, founded in 1927. Now, KBS is a mass broadcaster that performs basic media roles, such as monitoring and criticizing the social environment, shaping public opinion and promoting national culture, and providing services, free universal service so that all viewers can receive high quality, programming regardless of the area and surrounding conditions. KBS is focusing all its capabilities on producing high-quality programs based on the globalization innovation of Korean culture.
KBS provides new media services that operate with television royalties and advertising revenue, but 1TV and 1Radio have not been advertised since October 1994 to strengthen public relations. KBS has 4 terrestrial television channels (HD 1, 2TV, UHD 1 and 2TV), 2 satellite channels (KBS World, KBS World24), 7 radio channels, 4 terrestrial DMB channels, and operates satellite channels broadcasting stations in 9 major cities and 9 regions in Korea.
