Keeper
The Keeper was launched in 1987, which makes it the industry's oldest menstruation cup brand - and also one of the best menstrual cups that still thrive in popularity even to this day. The Keeper is constructed of latex (gum rubber) - in contrast to the majority of current menstruation cups, which are made of durable and allergenic pharmaceutical grade silicone (the manufacturers of The Keeper also produce the MoonCup, which is made with silicone).
If you are allergic to latex, The Keeper might not be for you; but if you are not, this menstrual cup may be the ideal replacement for throwaway (or other recyclable) period products. The Keeper is reusable for about ten years with appropriate maintenance (thought it might begin to become discolored and smell terrible after several years).
The Keeper's manufacturers strongly advise against heating the cups - and instead, they suggest you wash it in hot water first, then in a mixture of one part acetic to nine parts water. This, they claim, can lengthen The Keeper's life (and MoonCup as well).
