Koenigsegg Automotive
Despite the fact that there wasn't much competition in Sweden for the greatest luxury automobile at the time, Koenigsegg Automotive went above and above by launching some of the most commercially successful sports cars in the world. Because of their incredible display at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, they essentially got to become known as the best in the business, not just the best in Sweden.
The Agera S boasted the first carbon fibre wheels for a production car, while The One:1 was the first production car in the world with a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. The most expensive Koenigsegg so far is the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita which started at $4.8 million. There were only 49 produced in all. The company’s twelfth model, the Koenigsegg Jesko was launched at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. With a starting price of $2.8 million, this limited edition hypercar is claimed to have a top speed of 300 mph.
Koenigsegg has also developed a camless piston engine which found its first application in the Gemera, which was introduced in 2020. Koenigsegg develops and produces most of the main systems, subsystems and components needed for their cars in-house instead of relying on subcontractors.
