Koparki
Koparki s traditionally one of the best dive sites in Poland. Dive site Koparki is located in an abandoned quarry near the Polish city of Jaworzno. The quarry was abandoned in 1997 after the Dolomite factory, Szczakowa, went bankrupt. The whole quarry and all the working materials, including two gigantic excavators, were left behind during this collapse.
The whole dive site is rather a lunar landscape. Of course, you can find here the remains of quarry activity. The most famous sank attraction here is the excavator, gigant digger buckets, and cutter. And you can also find more mining constructions. For years, Koparki is one of those that should be visited in the south of Poland. A scuba dive site is also available for under-ice dives. The sunken attractions are large and interesting for photos. The quarry itself is definitely an interesting dive site due to many factors. One of them is the shaping of underwater views. The maximum depth is not likely to exceed 18m. Depending on the luck, the visibility is in the range of 3-5m in the season (due to crowds of divers) and 10m and more at the best time, i.e. in winter under ice. On-site it is possible to fill cylinders and, depending on the season, to use the local infrastructure.
