Kranjska Gora

Located on the border with Austria & Italy, Kranjska Gora is the most famous mountain resort in Slovenia, hosting the annual World Cup ski and ski jumping events.

Skiing is the main attraction for many - Kranjska Gora is the best resort for families and beginners.

With beautiful mountain scenery, excellent access to Triglav National Park, and a wide range of outdoor activities in summer and winter (hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, climbing), Kranjska Gora is still very popular all year round.

The town itself is a beautiful, family-friendly alpine region, with lots of lively restaurants, bars, a couple of pools/spas, a mountain bike park, and Summer ski runs.

Around Kranjska Gora are several beautiful villages (Podkoren, Rateče, Mojstrana, Dovje), pieces of traditional Gorenjska-style farms often centered around the excellent gostilna (inns) of locals.

Kranjska Gora is located at the junction of Slovenia, Italy, and Austria, which adds an extra charm to vacations in the region, especially since, unlike many "faded" borders, the three countries are still quite linguistic and cultural differences. You can easily visit all three countries in one day from Kranjska Gora.
