KU Leuven
The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven)B is a Catholic research institution in Leuven, Belgium. It offers courses in computer science, engineering, natural sciences, theology, humanities, medicine, law, canon law, business, and social sciences, as well as research and services.
It includes satellite campuses in Kortrijk, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Ostend, Geel, Diepenbeek, Aalst, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, and Belgium's capital Brussels, in addition to its main campus in Leuven. KU Leuven is Belgium's and the Low Countries' largest university. More than 58,000 students were enrolled in 2017–18. Although various programs, particularly graduate degrees, are offered in English, the predominant language of instruction is Dutch.
Major rating tables consistently place KU Leuven among the top 100 universities in the world. In the Times Higher Education rankings for 2021, it is ranked 42nd, 70th in the QS World University Rankings, and 87th in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities as well as among the Best Universities in Belgium.
