Kultobe Settlement
One of the enormous points of interest in historical Turkistan is the fortress of the Kultobe settlement, which is a complex of defensive, residential, and spiritual premises of the Kangju era (I-II centuries - V centuries). The fortress of Kultobe-Yasi is placed withinside the buffer area of the World Heritage Site - the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and is a wonderfully preserved specific instance of uncooked architecture.
The fortress of Kultobe is a fraction of a wall with towers, which withinside the plan in all likelihood had a hexagonal shape. The thickness and peak of the partitions of the fortress, which reached 5-6 meters, indicate that the population cared about safety. The towers and partitions have been geared up with rows of arrow-formed loopholes, which demonstrates the superior strategies of the fortification artwork of historical Turkistan.
Inside the fortress, similarly to the cruciform temple, there have been added later residential and public buildings. In its architectural style, it has analogs in South Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
