Kumbhalgarh Fort

The Kumbhalgarh Fort is situated in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. It is best known as the birthplace of one of the greatest warriors of India, Maharana Pratap. The fort was built during the course of the 15th century, and further additions were made to it in the 19th century. The best season to visit Kumbhalgarh is the winter season. The temperature remains comfortable and is apt for visiting the monuments and other places of interest in Kumbhalgarh.

The fort is currently accessible to the public and is briefly illuminated each night with beautiful lights. After the Chittorgarh Fort, the Kumbhalgarh Fort is the most significant fort in Mewar. Rana Kumbha and his family, who belonged to the Rajput Sisodia tribe, constructed the fort. The Aret Pol or Gate serves as the fort's entryway. Other entrances include the Vijay Pol, Halla Pol, Hanuman Pol, and Ram Pol. The Hanuman Pol is significant because it houses a statue of Lord Hanuman that Rana Kumbha brought to the fort from Mandavpur.
