Lake Washington
The next position on the list of the most beautiful lakes in Washington is lake Washington. A sizable freshwater lake named Lake Washington is located close to Seattle. After Lake Chelan, it is the second-biggest natural lake in the state of Washington and the largest lake in King County. It surrounds Mercer Island and borders the cities of Seattle on the west, Bellevue, and Kirkland on the east, Renton on the south, and Kenmore on the north. At its northern and southern ends, the Sammamish River and Cedar River respectively feed the lake.
On Seattle's north side, Madison Beach, Denny Blaine Park, and Madrona Park are all great areas to enjoy the coastline. On the southern end of the lake sits Seward Park, one of the biggest public parks that border the water. Boat launches and a lovely beach are characteristics of this vast 300-acre park.
The most well-liked way to enjoy Lake Washington is in one of these lakeshore parks. The history of the body of water and the growth of the city are intertwined. Chittenden Locks, also known as Ballard Locks, is a fascinating place to discover more. This clever structure keeps the saltwater of the Sound from contaminating the freshwater of the lake.
