Luxembourg
One of the three de facto capitals of the European Union, Luxembourg City is the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. When Count Siegfried of the Ardennes established his "little fortress" there in 963, the city's history began. Throughout its history, Burgundy, France, Spain, Austria, Prussia, and Germany all claimed ownership over or occupation of Luxembourg. Luxembourg has been a hub of European collaboration and an autonomous state since being liberated on September 10, 1944.
Tourists have flocked to the city in recent years as it has grown and urbanized, allowing them to see its rich history, natural beauty, and culture. With significant infrastructural investments made by the local and federal governments, wheelchair accessibility is generally good. It is now much simpler than ever to explore Luxembourg in a wheelchair thanks to curbing ramps at almost every intersection and wheelchair-accessible public transportation.
