Luxembourg University
The Institution of Luxembourg is a public research university in Luxembourg City and Belval Campus, with an international, multilingual, and interdisciplinary focus. The university, which was founded in 2003, has already established itself as one of the top young universities in the world. In the Times Higher Young University Rankings 2018, it was rated 12th, while in the Times Higher World University Rankings 2016, it was ranked 178th.
Many bilingual and multilingual study programs in French, English, and German are available, as well as many master's and doctorate programs taught solely in English. The institution offers a global learning experience with around 6,200 students from 120 nationalities and 250 lecturers from around the world. Furthermore, all Bachelor's students are required to spend a semester abroad, demonstrating the value placed on mobility. As a result, the university collaborates with approximately 90 partner universities around the world.
The University of Luxembourg has three faculties: Science, Technology, and Communication, Law, Economics, and Finance, and Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts, and Education, as well as three interdisciplinary research centers: the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT), and the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH). Computational sciences and information technology, systems biomedicine, European law, international finance, and educational sciences are among the current research priorities.
The University of Luxembourg, being one of Europe's most cosmopolitan universities, maintains close relationships with EU institutions and engages in debates about Europe's future.
