Madote Island, Eritrea
Madote is an island, located in Semēnawī Kʼeyih Bahrī, Eritrea. Madote is not only a tiny sandbar, home to seabirds and some species of grass, but also has activities like swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, walk in the warm water or on the sandy beach. The island is so tiny that it can't even be seen on google maps.
Soft white sand and turquoise waters welcome you when you arrive at this tiny island, the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The crystal clear waters offer an unforgettable snorkeling experience with some marine species around the island. What remains of the lighthouse gives the view a dramatic feel, a great photo spot. There are no facilities places to eat or stay on the island.
The sea here is something else. The marine life and coral are still unspoiled, with 300 species of fish. Madote is little more than a sandbar in the Red Sea. The only sign of human activity is an old lighthouse. The whole experience is simple and utterly beautiful.
