Mahindra is based in Mumbai and is a market leader in the automotive, agriculture, and services industries in India. It was founded as Mahindra & Mohammed in 1945 and then renamed Mahindra & Mahindra. M&M, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, is one of India's leading car manufacturers by output. Its subsidiary Mahindra Tractors is the world's largest producer of tractors by volume.

The majority of the brand's models are basic, typical versions meant for everyday use in India. Nonetheless, to meet worldwide demand, Mahindra offers certain premium options through its abroad partnerships, such as French Peugeot, BSA, and Jawa.

Apart from motorbikes, Mahindra's mission includes the development of bicycles, automobiles, tractors, and even aircraft.
