Man's Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl, which recounts the story of his time as a prisoner during World War II, and describes his psychotherapy, defining life purpose to feel positive. This is a book about survival. Thinking he would be safe in the 1930s, Frankl had a rough time in Nazi concentration and extermination camps. In Finding the Reason for Life, the author rarely mentioned the hardships, pain, and loss he had experienced, instead, he wrote about the sources of strength that helped him survive.
According to a survey conducted by the Book of the Month Club and the Library of Congress, Human Search for Meaning is on the list of "the 10 most influential books in America."
