Marengo Cave
A trip to Marengo Cave is an excursion that any genuine explorer would relish. One of just four Indiana caverns that are still accessible to the general public, this designated U.S. National Landmark is located just outside of Indianapolis, and a visit is a must. The attraction has provided a special opportunity to connect with what is below the surface ever since two youngsters accidentally discovered the cave in 1883.
With solo, group, school, and media tours available, you're sure to find out that visiting the Marengo Cave is the only way to properly appreciate all that Indiana has to offer. Marengo Cave provides two distinct walking excursions and is available all year long.
A mile of the cave is covered by the Dripstone Trail tour, which takes 60 to 70 minutes to complete. The Crystal Palace tour spans a third of the cave's length and takes 35–40 minutes to finish. The two trips are not comparable and each sees a different part of the cave.
