Marine Days

The Marine Days Festival is also held in some villages the same week as their festival. This is when people gather on the main sea lane of the village to watch reef fishing competitions and Vaka (canoe) fishing. In the evening, a barbecue is held to celebrate the catch. Visitors are welcome; however, out of habit, you can bring a few things to contribute to the meal. With the bustle of festivals and competitions, participants can enjoy delicious dishes fresh from the sea. Especially the people in Niue are very hospitable, you will not have to worry about strange things at the festival.

It is the fourth most popular festival in Niue, attracting large numbers of participants. Not only that, the festival is also organized according to the unique culture of the Niue people, people of different villages.
