Modern English School Cairo
In 1990, Modern English School Cairo (MESC) began its educational journey with only 28 students, led by a visionary team of educators spearheaded by Mr. Nabeel Dajani and Mrs. Sawsan Dajani. Over time, its reputation flourished within the community, prompting rapid growth and the establishment of a purpose-built campus in the thriving area of New Cairo.
Their school is in New Cairo, with a cool campus full of gardens, ponds, and even a bird area. The primary school has classrooms grouped together, making it easy for everyone. Outside, there's lots of space for playing sports with courts, fields, and pools. The classrooms are well-equipped for modern learning, and they have special places for music, dance, and cooking. Right in the middle, there's a huge theater where they have meetings and shows.
The little ones start with the Early Years curriculum, focusing a lot on play, early childhood development, and getting along with others. As they move up, they enter KS1 and then KS2, where they continue learning based on the National Curriculum of England.
As students transition to secondary school, they have two distinct pathways to choose from: the British Section offering GCSE/IGCSE courses and AS/A Levels, or the American Curriculum Section. Additionally, an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) pathway is available after Grade 10 for those seeking a broader educational experience.
With over eighty clubs including various interests like Music, Sports, Arts, Languages, and Community Service, Modern English School Cairo encourages students to explore their passions. The school's aim is to guide students toward graduation, ensuring they are well-prepared to access universities that align with their abilities and ambitions.
