Like many smartpens, proprietary paper is required to function properly, but the Moleskine Pen+ Ellipse requires a proprietary manual to function. However, we can comfortably say that Moleskines are the best, as they don't sacrifice style or practicality. However, you pay a hefty price for these fancy notebooks. The pen is sleek and weighs as much as five regular Bic pens. It's comfortable to hold and easy to write on, featuring a triangular design and slim profile.
However, in the handwriting tests, the Pen+ recorded just one error when writing out the full Gettysburg address. Likewise, transcribing words written into the app had highly accurate results, even with messy handwriting. But it fails in drawing tests, so it's not the best choice for artists. Even so, the excellent handwriting accuracy combined with the app's ability to record audio makes taking notes during lectures or meetings great.
