Monsters, Inc. (2001)
The computer-animated monster comedy film Monsters, Inc. (Monsters, Inc.) was released in 2001 by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film follows two monsters, James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and his one-eyed sidekick and closest friend Mike Wazowski, who work for Monsters, Inc., a factory that generates electricity by frightening human children. The monster world, on the other hand, believes that children are dangerous, so when a little human girl slips into the factory, she must be sent home before it's too late.
When it was released on November 2, 2001, Monsters, Inc. was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $577 million worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing picture of the year. The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature for the first time, and "If I Didn't Have You" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
