Montserrat wreck
Another wreck that is worth visiting on the Antigua coast is the Montserrat wreck. These are just three of the many shipwrecks in Antigua that should be visited. An intact wreck that sits upright on the seabed, with experienced divers able to penetrate it. Montserrat's wreck is a contemporary wreck. It was built as a freighter and used as a tugboat in Antigua before being scuttled to encourage the formation of an artificial reef.
Because of the depth, it is only suitable for advanced divers or those undergoing deep diving training. It is home to a diverse array of marine life and is largely undeveloped. The wreck of Montserrat is an epic dive because it is home to large spiny spider crabs and Caribbean spiny lobster in the aft bilge area, as well as Caribbean reef sharks circling the outside of the wreck.
