Motorola

Motorola is a global American corporation founded in 1928. Motorola is well-known for its mobile phone development.

Motorola is slowly catching up to the big dogs, yet it remains one of the top mobile phone brands in the world.

In 2011, the corporation was split into two separate public companies, Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions.

Motorola Mobility is in charge of the company's consumer product lines, which includes its mobile phone division, while Motorola Solutions is in charge of the company's enterprise product lines.

Motorola Mobility was purchased by Google in May 2012 for US$12.5 billion. The deal does not go any further, and Google sold Motorola Mobility to Lenovo for $2.91 billion in January 2014.

In 2021, the company is ranked seventh among the top ten mobile phone brands in the globe.
