Mountain Lions eat Deer

One of the most common predators of deer that eat deer is this huge, tan cat, which is frequently found throughout the Americas. While the mountain lion is its most well-known name, other names for it include cougar, puma, catamount, and red tiger. The mountain lion is an ambush predator, which means it catches prey like deer by being cunning and sneaky. Prior to pouncing, it can skulk among the bushes and trees, killing the deer with a powerful neck bite.

Many of the major bones in the body, such as the vertebrae, femurs, pelvises, skulls, and scapulae, are crushed and either completely or partially digested when a mountain lion eats a deer carcass. The back ribs have been bitten through, and some of them have even been pried and bent at strange angles. The femurs, fibula, and tibia are still joined to the skeleton by their joints, despite the rear legs having been completely removed. The deer's heart and lungs are still intact, but the rumen's fleshy exterior has nearly all been destroyed, exposing the interior of the organ. The deer's entire right front limb is missing, but because the scapula articulates with the ribs and vertebrae fully through muscular means and is not skeletal, this is not surprising.
