Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was founded in 1923 and is located along the Tennessee River in the state's northwest region. Muscle Shoals is now home to approximately 15,000 people. Rick Hall moved his FAME Recording Studio from Florence to Muscle Shoals in the 1960s. Tours and recording sessions continue to take place today.
