Nantasket Beach
Nantasket Beach, one of Greater Boston's busiest beaches, is a well-liked summer vacation spot for families looking to escape the heat. About an hour from Boston, in Hull, Massachusetts, is where you'll find Nantasket Beach. Its beach has about a mile of shoreline and soft, light gray sands. The beach also features a large number of tide pools at low tide.
The Wampanoag Indians gave it a name that refers to the sandy shores "where tides meet." At low tide, there is a ton of extra sand to explore along the Atlantic coastline, where tide pools are revealed. This beach is popular with families because children of all ages enjoy spending time searching for sea life in the shallow waters.
The beach is great for partaking in the typical beach activities such as swimming, sunbathing and sandcastles, but there are also many other ways to pass the day. There’s the 1.5 mile promenade trial, perfect for walking, biking or jogging. And during the summers, there are a number of public concerts to enjoy in the evening. There are also restrooms, a bathhouse and restaurants nearby.
