Neil Young
Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter and musician. After embarking on a musical career in Winnipeg in the 1960s, Young moved to Los Angeles, joining Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, and others. Since beginning a solo career with backing band Crazy Horse, Young has released many important and critically acclaimed albums, such as Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere , After the Gold Rush , Harvest , On the Beach and Rust Never Sleeps . He is a part-time member of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Young has received several Grammy and Juno awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored him twice: in 1995 as a solo artist and in 1997 as a member of Buffalo Springfield. In 2000, Rolling Stone named Young at number 34 on its list of the 100 Greatest Musicians. According to Acclaimed Music, he is the seventh most popular artist in the history of popular music and is also one of the most famous folk rock artists. His guitar work, deeply personal lyrics and signature tenor vocals define his long career.
