Founded in 1886, Nestle has grown globally and is now present in 194 countries with 447 manufacturing plants. Henri Nestle, a pharmacist, created a formula for newborns who couldn't be breastfed in the 1960s. His first achievement was raising a baby who was unable to be fed breast milk or any other traditional substitute. When his novel formula saved the baby's life, the importance of the new product was swiftly recognized, and the Farine Lactee Henri Nestle product became widely available in Europe.
